Aside from being a good excuse to eat and travel; The Quest For Zest exists for the purpose of sharing what we love about the local food community in and around Indiana. It’s our hope you will go out and experience these things for yourself; confident you have received balanced and fair information. For that reason, we want to make it clear where we stand on the common issues surrounding food blogging.

Free Stuff

This is our full-time job, and for now, we are not paid by individuals or companies to write The Quest For Zest. We never accept gifts or money in exchange for anything we’ve recommended on The Quest For Zest. If you want to send us your product, please know that if we like it we may feature it on The Quest For Zest; if we don’t, we may have to give it a less then shining review. We do not, however, exist to give nasty reviews, or to unfairly criticize people.

We do not accept free meals from restaurants, chefs, or anyone else willing to feed us, in exchange for a positive recommendation on The Quest For Zest. However, we will always accept tastes, bites, and free samples at farmer’s markets, on tours, or in kitchens – it would be rude not too.

In the interest of gathering information that represents a “typical dining experience” we may attend a restaurants launch party, but we will not review the restaurant based on that experience. As of this writing, every restaurant review is given after multiple visits, and product recommendations are based on our experiences with a product we purchased with our own funds. If this is ever not the case, the article or video will state that clearly at the outset.

Advertising & Linking

We currently do not offer advertising on The Quest For Zest and have no intention of entering into any partnerships (e.g. sponsored articles, ad networks, etc.) that would require us to place ads on our site or in our articles. We are also not placing link lists or exchanges on The Quest For Zest at this time.

Comments

The information gathered from the comments on the site serves only to confirm your status as a human and not a SpamBot. We will never send you unsolicited emails or sell or distribute our reader’s information to other companies.

I like to think of the comments section as the family dinner table, so don’t comment with your mouth full and keep the conversation civil and on topic. Abusive comments will disappear from the blog faster then a bag of Peanut M&M’s on movie night.

Sharing links from our site is encouraged, but all articles, photos, videos, typos, artwork, and the design and layout are copyright of The Quest For Zest. They may not be reproduced for any reason without our permission. Portions of articles may be reproduced on other sites, but you must have permission and you must provide a link to the full article on our site.

We produce our content with the best of intentions and strive to be objective and fair with everything we post. We research to the best of our abilities and make every effort to ensure that all information in our articles and videos is accurate at the time of publishing. However, things change and we can not, therefore, be held responsible for broken links or information that has changed since publishing (i.e. the price of an AeroPress in 2011.) If we forget to, or incorrectly, credit a source – email us. As we said, accuracy is important to us, and we do not want to misinform anyone.
